July 1, 2015
MindEdge’s new online Lean Basics course offers learners a brief but comprehensive review of the core concepts and central principles that practitioners will need to successfully understand and apply Lean strategies to organizational operations. Lean is an aggregation of continuous-process-improvement practices centered on enhancing value, empowering employees, and reducing waste.
This self-paced, three-module course is available on MindEdge Online and through selected training partners and institutions of higher education.
Lean Basics employs interactive and integrative exercises to help learners better understand the foundational elements of a Lean application. Case studies and video segments from experienced Lean professionals provide real-world advice and counsel for participants. Review assignments assist in the comprehension and retention of course material to ensure proficiency and mastery of critical knowledge and information.
Learners will gain exposure to the key principles and practices of an effective Lean approach, with a focus on the role that just-in-time and jidoka standards play in Lean implementation. The course also suggests strategies for eliminating the waste and non-value-added activities in work systems and processes. Lean Basics also explains how the interconnectivity of Lean concepts encourages continuous advancement and breakthrough improvements in the workplace.
After successful completion, students can receive 10 PDUs/contact hours. Successful completion means completing all assignments in the course, and scoring a minimum of 70% on the course assessment.
